David Kantounas

David Kantounas Portrait


David studied at The University of West England, Bristol and trained at the Royal Court Theatre where he also spent 6 months as a senior reader. In 2010 he was selected for the Old Vic TS Eliot Exchange and in 2011 he was awarded the Peggy Ramsey bursary. His play WASTE was shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting in 2013.

He is currently a resident at the Takt Kunstprojektraum, Berlin, where he is developing a trilogy of plays that combine theatre with live electro music.

David has also worked as a dramaturg and director on various theayre and education projects collaborating with companies such as Immediate Thetare, Cardboard Citizens, Drywrite, Teatro en Vilo and Longbridge. He created Dream Epic Theatre in 2010 and has been an associate artist with Ugly Rhino Productions, New York since 2011.
